B-BBEE Recognition Levels
The B-BBEE levels are a measure of a company’s compliance with the B-BBEE Act and are used to determine the company’s B-BBEE status. There are eight B-BBEE levels, each with a corresponding scorecard and weightings.

A Level 1 B-BBEE contributor is a company that has achieved a total score of 100+ points on the B-BBEE scorecard. This level is the highest achievable level and indicates that the company has made a significant contribution to B-BBEE.

A Level 6 B-BBEE contributor is a company that has achieved a total score of 70-74 points on the B-BBEE scorecard. This level indicates that the company has made little or no progress in terms of B-BBEE.

A Level 7 B-BBEE contributor is a company that has achieved a total score of 55-69 points on the B-BBEE scorecard. This level indicates that the company has made little or no progress in terms of B-BBEE.
Level Eight Contributor
>= 40 but < 55 points

A Level 8 B-BBEE contributor is a company that has achieved a total score of 40 - 54 points on the B-BBEE scorecard. This level indicates that the company has made little or no progress in terms of B-BBEE.
