Sustainable Development Goals and Sport
Participation in sport contributes to the well-being of individuals, regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. It is also fully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly with regards to health (Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages).
Sport can also be used as a meaningful tool for the prevention of conflict and the promotion of long-lasting peace, since sport and its universality has the potential to transcend cultures and societal barriers (Goal 16: Promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies).

MSCT BEE Services Sponsors the Kaapstad Kings
Back in 2008, two Springbok legends, Bobby Skinstad and Robbie Fleck kicked off the Cape Town 10s Rugby Tournament.
What was started as a rugby-only gathering has since grown into a multi-sport event across South Africa.
The main event, though, is still the biggest and most supported. The ten-a-side rugby tournament is the biggest of its kind in the world and has increased in popularity and commercial value.
This initiative contributes to the cultural and national heritage of South Africa, of which rugby is a big component. The sport holds immense significance in South Africa’s road to transformation and has played a vital role in uniting the diverse population of the country.
Victory on and off the field
In the recent 2025 Cape Town 10s Rugby Tournament, MSCT BEE Services sponsored a relatively fresh team in the event – The Kaapstad Kings.
The group made its debut in 2023, coming in third place. The following year, in 2024, they secured the second spot in the Cup Final.
In 2025, the Kaapstad Kings repeated their stellar performance to land in second place again – this time fully sponsored by MSCT BEE Services.
The team, which is made of ordinary men with a passion for the game, has been playing rugby together since primary school. And many from their ranks have gone on to become very talented rugby players who play for premier clubs in and around Cape Town. Others have also represented universities, provinces, or professional franchises.
The Kaapstad Kings show the importance of diversity in South African sport, and MSCT BEE Services is proud to be their current main sponsor for the Winelands 10s, which will take place in November 2025.
Transformation Through Transportation
MSCT and Out the Box team up to help Little Smarties
Annually, MSCT BEE Services engages in sponsoring the transport fees associated with the Little Smarties Foundation.
The foundation runs a project aimed at making foundation-phase education (Grade R) more accessible to children who are typically marginalised. They come from pockets of society where there are high incidences of substance abuse and unemployment, as well as limited educational resources. In this case, the area is Macassar in the Helderberg region.
Through MSCT’s partnership with social initiative Out the Box, we are able to safely transport these young children from Macassar to Somerset College for weekly educational support.
Golfing for Good
MSCT takes part in the Endangered Wildlife Trust Golf Days
The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) hosts regular golf days to support the organisations conservation efforts.
The registered non-profit organisation has been since 1973 and works in 21 countries around the world. Their main focus is on conserving threatened species and at-risk ecosystems in Southern and East Africa. This includes reducing human-wildlife conflict, monitoring endangered species and safeguarding habitats for both animals and people.
Each year, MSCT BEE Services is proud to sponsor a few balls and holes at the long-running EWT Golf Days. These events, which take place across the country at some of our most pristine golf courses, help to raise much-needed funds and resources to further the EWT’s mission and vision.
